Information About Our Area and Our Church

The weather is the warmest in the UP. We are 80 miles from the city of Green Bay. Sports include: Packer football, hockey, college basketball. There are people who would be willing to accompany hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and so on. We have an annual church picnic, fellowship time on Sundays, and other festivities, such as a Super Bowl Party and there is quilting for Lutheran World Relief. There is softball for men and women, basketball, walking programs in the public school when the weather is cold (morning and noon).

We have a rifle range in Stephenson and a trap range in Wallace. There is a Pheasant Club that raises and releases birds. Hunting includes: duck, pheasant, partridge, goose, woodcock, turkey, deer and bear. The best walleye fishing in the UP is at Cedar River, and also in Menominee and the Green Bay. Also fishing for bass, perch, brown trout, lake trout, rainbow trout, and salmon.

We have four wheeler trails, skiing trails, and hiking. Thirty-five percent is state land with lots of room for sportsmen. Menominee River is on one side of our county, and the Green Bay is on the other.

Classes include exercise, karate, Weight Watchers, Bible Study. There are card games and pool organized and in people’s homes. There are 2 grocery stores in the area that make home made meats and sausages, very reasonably priced. Traffic is very light here.
